UNC Chapel Hill Athletics is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Athletic Trainer to lead our sports medicine program. The Head Athletic Trainer will oversee all aspects of athletic healthcare delivery for our athletes, supervise a staff of assistant athletic trainers, and serve as the primary liaison between the athletic training department and team physicians.
Responsibilities include providing comprehensive injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services; developing and implementing evidence-based protocols for athletic healthcare; managing the daily operations of the athletic training facility including budgeting, equipment, and supplies; hiring, supervising, and mentoring assistant athletic trainers; coordinating with team physicians for medical coverage and athlete clearance decisions; maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA and institutional policies; and developing emergency action plans for all practice and competition venues.
