University of Michigan Athletics has an opening for a Clinical Athletic Trainer to provide outpatient sports medicine services in our Ann Arbor, MI facility. This position bridges traditional clinical physical therapy practice with specialized athletic training care for an active patient population.
The Clinical Athletic Trainer will evaluate and treat musculoskeletal injuries in an outpatient clinical setting; develop and implement evidence-based rehabilitation protocols; collaborate with physical therapists, physicians, and specialists to coordinate patient care; provide sport-specific rehabilitation and return-to-sport progressions; perform functional movement screens and injury risk assessments for athletes; assist with ergonomic evaluations for occupational patients; maintain thorough documentation compliant with payer and regulatory requirements; and participate in community outreach and sports coverage events as needed.
BOC certification and state licensure are required. Experience in an outpatient orthopedic or sports medicine setting preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team are essential.
