University of Michigan Athletics seeks a qualified Athletic Training Program Director to lead our CAATE-accredited professional preparation program. This position offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of athletic training professionals while maintaining a clinical practice.
The Program Director will provide academic and administrative leadership for the athletic training education program; ensure ongoing compliance with CAATE accreditation standards; recruit, advise, and mentor students through the program; teach core athletic training courses and clinical education seminars; maintain an active clinical practice; engage in scholarly activity including research, peer-reviewed publications, or professional service; collaborate with clinical education coordinators and preceptors to provide high-quality field experience; and represent the program at national and regional professional meetings.
A doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DAT, or clinical doctorate) is required, along with current BOC certification and state licensure. Prior experience in athletic training education and knowledge of CAATE accreditation processes are essential.
