How to Create Your Profile
Last updated: March 2026
Your profile is the first thing employers see when you apply for a position. A complete, accurate profile increases your chances of getting noticed and can allow employers to find you directly through the Resume Bank. This guide walks you through every section so you can present yourself at your best.
Sign in and navigate to your profile
Log in to your NATA Career Center account. Click your name or avatar in the top-right corner and select "My Profile" from the dropdown menu.
Complete your personal information
Fill in your full name, headline (e.g., "Certified Athletic Trainer — Sports Medicine"), city, state, and phone number. A professional headline helps recruiters quickly understand your specialty.
Add your professional summary
Write 2–4 sentences that highlight your experience, certifications, and career goals. Keep it focused on what makes you valuable as an athletic trainer. Mention your ATC credential, any specialty areas (e.g., orthopedic rehab, concussion management), and the type of setting you prefer.
Enter your work experience
Add each position you have held, starting with your most recent role. Include the employer name, job title, dates of employment, and 2–4 bullet points describing your key responsibilities and accomplishments. Use action verbs such as "managed," "implemented," or "reduced."
List your education and certifications
Add your degree(s), institution names, and graduation years. Then add your BOC certification number and any additional credentials (CSCS, CAQSM, etc.). Keep your certification expiry dates current so employers can confirm your active status.
Set your job preferences
Indicate your preferred employment type (full-time, part-time, per diem), work setting (high school, college, clinic, professional sports), preferred location(s), and salary expectations. These preferences help the platform surface relevant job alerts.
Save and review your profile
Click "Save Profile" at the bottom of the page. Preview your public profile to see exactly what employers will see. Review for any typos, inconsistencies, or missing information before enabling your profile for the Resume Bank.
Pro Tip
Enable "Open to Opportunities" in your profile settings to make yourself discoverable to employers browsing the Resume Bank — even if you are not actively applying for positions.
