Updating Your Settings
Last updated: March 2026
Your account settings control how the NATA Career Center communicates with you, what information is visible to others, and how the platform behaves. This guide covers the most important settings so you can configure your experience to your preferences.
Open Account Settings
Click your name or avatar in the top-right corner and select "Settings" from the dropdown. The Settings page is organized into four sections: Profile Visibility, Notifications, Privacy, and Security.
Configure email notifications
Under the Notifications tab, choose which emails you receive: job alert digests, application status updates, messages from employers, weekly career insights newsletter, and platform announcements. You can toggle each type on or off independently.
Set your profile visibility
Under Profile Visibility, choose whether your profile appears in the public Resume Bank. Options are: Visible to All Employers, Visible Only to Employers with Active Packages, and Hidden (not searchable). You can change this at any time.
Manage privacy settings
The Privacy tab lets you control whether your current employer can see your profile in the Resume Bank (you may want to hide it if your employer is on the platform), whether your contact details are shown directly on your profile, and whether you receive marketing communications.
Update your display language and timezone
Under Preferences, set your preferred timezone so that job alert timestamps and application deadlines display correctly in your local time. Language options will be expanded in future platform updates.
Save your changes
Settings are saved automatically as you toggle them. A confirmation toast will appear at the bottom of the screen whenever a change is saved.
Pro Tip
If you are actively job searching, set your job alert notifications to "Immediate" rather than "Daily Digest." For competitive positions, applying within the first 24 hours of a listing going live gives you a meaningful advantage.
