Posting Your First Job

The NATA Career Center connects you directly with thousands of certified athletic trainers. This guide walks through every step of creating a compelling job listing — from selecting a posting package to hitting "Publish."
Sign in as an employer
Log in to your Employer account. If you do not yet have an account, click "Post a Job" on the homepage and complete the employer registration form. Your company profile must be complete before you can publish a listing.
Go to "Post a Job"
From your Employer Dashboard, click "Post a Job" in the top navigation or in the Quick Actions section. This opens the four-step job posting wizard.
Enter job details
Fill in the job title, category, employment type, location (or mark as remote), and a detailed job description. Use clear, specific language. List required qualifications separately from preferred qualifications. Include the anticipated start date and the reporting structure.
Set compensation information
Enter salary range (hourly or annual) and any additional benefits (health insurance, retirement plan, relocation assistance, signing bonus). Listings with salary ranges receive significantly more qualified applicants than those without.
Choose a posting package
Select a package that fits your hiring timeline: Standard (30 days), Extended (60 days), or Featured (30 days with highlighted placement). Featured listings appear at the top of search results and in the Job Flash email. If your account has package credits, they will be applied automatically.
Add screening questions (optional)
Add up to five screening questions to filter applicants before you review their resumes (e.g., "Are you BOC certified?" or "Do you have experience working in a collegiate setting?"). Yes/No questions help you quickly identify qualified candidates.
Review and publish
Preview your listing exactly as applicants will see it. Check for typos, missing information, and broken formatting. When satisfied, click "Publish Job." Your listing will go live immediately and be indexed in search within minutes.
Pro Tip
Include the city and state in your job title (e.g., "Athletic Trainer — Austin, TX") when the position requires on-site work. This improves your listing's visibility in location-based searches and reduces applications from candidates who cannot relocate.
